About the Artist :
Dre Murray is a multi-media artist who uses illustration, installation, poetry, story writing & doll making to breathe life into her various characters & their habitats.
Dre is primarily concentrating on character development of a little girl doll (or
maybe alter ego) called "Belladonna" and her friends, who reside in various areas
of a world called Dollpocalypce.
She started as a practicing Artist in 1993 while living in South Auckland, since
then she has had an ever changing style that has been heavily influenced by political, social and environmental issues, as well as the various cultures that have surrounded her. The current evolution
has become a very "grungy" dark & moody style with horror aspects but with a degree of humour.
While living in Wellington she has achieved a Bachelor of Creative Technologies in Visual Arts & Cultural
Design through Wellington Institute of Technology which was completed in 2011, receiving a diligence award
in 2010.
